The Faculty of Physical Education has existed since 1999.
OSW Poland is the only non-public school, which educates students in the second degree cycle – Master Degree.
Since the academic year 2012/2013 education has had a practical profile.
Curricula are prepared in accordance with the requirements of current legislation and the latest scientific achievements in the field of physical culture. They meet the requirements of the European and National Qualifications Framework. Education is carried out in conditions similar to learning practical situations and helps the students to acquire knowledge, skills and social skills and to prepare them adequately to fulfill the future role of a professional physical education teacher, sports instructor and animator of sport and physical recreation activities.
Particular attention is paid to ensure that training in major subjects and practical subjects is carried out under the guidance of teachers with extensive professional experience. Our tutors are often former active sportpeople, representatives of the country and coaches, who share their knowledge and experience with adepts of physical education.
The faculty’s teaching staff consists of approx. 70 people (professors, doctors, masters of coaches and instructors and different sports people from Olsztyn, Poznan, Warsaw, Wroclaw and Gdansk).
Due to the excellent infrastructure and well-equipped testing laboratories, we can offer students a high level of education and educate them in professionally prepared teaching rooms, laboratories and sports facilities.
Students have the opportunity to pursue their own interest in sports based on college sports base and the set of academic sports facilities- in studios, laboratories, research (Central Research Laboratory and Center of body posture),which provide opportunities to conduct research in the context of student research. An important element of practical training placements take place in educational institutions at all levels of education.
Physical education students are prepared to work as teachers of physical education in all types of schools, acquire skills related to the broader organization of sporting events, and private institutions.
Students can gain qualifications as a sports coach in the following disciplines: football volleyball, swimming and fitness. Students gain a working knowledge of summer and winter sports camps.
